The April 2009 meetup must be postponed for Passover. Which new date do you prefer?

The Jewish holiday of Passover begins at sunset on Wednesday, April 8, and continues until sunset on Thursday, April 16. The sushi meetup usually held on the second Thursday of each month would fall in this case on the evening of April 9, which is the second seder of Passover. Although the sushi meetup is obviously not frequented by observant Jews who strictly adhere to kosher dietary laws, I feel it is appropriate to postpone by one or two weeks to prevent conflicts. Some but not all Jews avoid eating rice on Passover.

How far from Providence are you willing to go for the meetup?

Many regular attendees seem to have balked at the distance of the July 2008 meetup in Newport. However, the July meetup in each of the prior two years was in Newport with good attendance. With $4 per gallon gas prices, perhaps venues that were within acceptable range no longer are, so guidance on this point is being requested. Kennedy Plaza was chosen somewhat arbitrarily as the "milliarium aureum" for purposes of this poll because it is the hub of the RIPTA system. Since most of the attendees are from Greater Providence and northward, difficulties seem to arise with venues toward the south, so the questions have been tailored to account for that.

Should the February 2008 sushi meetup be postponed one week?

The regular date for the sushi meetup, the second Thursday of the month, falls on February 14 in 2008. This is, of course, Valentine's Day. I'm concerned that too many people will have other private plans for Valentine's Day which would conflict with the sushi meetup and depress attendance. There may be difficulty reserving for a large group at a restaurant on Valentine's Day, traditionally one of the busiest days of the year. Would meetup participants prefer to postpone the February meetup a week to the following Thursday?

The April regular date falls on the Jewish holiday of Passover. Should it be postponed, and to when?

The Jewish holiday of Passover involves family commitments and dietary restrictions that tend to conflict with the sushi meetup. At least Zigamorph, while not a particularly observant Jew, would be unable to attend on the originally scheduled date. Would you be willing to have the meetup postponed and, if so, would you prefer by one or two weeks?
