San Diego's Big Trends will Collide: Population Growth and Climate Change

There are two long range forecasts for the SanDiego region - and they collide. SANDAG has developed the 2050 Growth Forecast that shows trends of population, housing and jobs over the coming decades. The San Diego Foundation published the Climate Wake-Up Report that projects some scary consequences to our County if trends continue. Some of these issues are under our control, some issues will require us to mitigate and adapt to the changes.

If you are a San Diego native, you've seen dramatic changes in the past 40 years.  The next 40 years will alter our beautiful region even further unless we change course.

We have 2 expert presenters for this dialogue:

Clint Daniels,

SANDAG Director for Regional Models

Dr. Emily Young,

San Diego Foundation

Director Environmental Analysis and Policy.

This is our monthly Green Scene event at the SimCenter -- drinks and appetizers with a suggested donation of $10 at door

I'll try to make it; does anyone know how late the trolley runs to City College from there? I'll need to catch the trolley/bus both ways, and don't want to get stranded due to poor transit service.

I am looking forward to an evening talking about and planning for a warmer San Diego. We can look at what it will mean to move Lindbergh Field and Mission Bay...
