Movie night: Bidder 70

Bidder 70 is an award-winning film about the story of Tim DeChristopher. This courageous young man was protesting the auction of leases on pristine PUBLICLY owned land for drilling oil and gas. He entered the auction and won the bids for 22 tracts. With no intention of paying (and no intention of drilling!), Tim was sentenced to two years in a federal prison (he is to be released on April 21, 2013). Bidder 70 is his story and the story of the Peaceful Uprising movement that grew to support him and bring national attention to our extremely vulnerable relationship to the future if we continue to burn oil and gas with no regard for the consequences to our climate.

Suggested donation $10.
