San Diego's Land Use and Planning - how sustainable are we?

We develop long range visions for our region to know where we are going. We zone and code our land to protect sensitive ecosystems, improve economic generation, speed transit, and foster community. We keep commercial uses together and segment mixed use for retail and housing.

Our region is growing and it is undeniable that we must explore new ways of assessing urban planning. How will we redesign our cities to work for all its citizens? Where will we invest our limited resources? How will this improve our lives?

Join us as we welcome new
City Planning Director Bill Fulton and renown Architect Teddy Cruz.

Mr. Fulton brings a track record of sustainability and smart planning to the table. Mr. Cruz is a new voice in the architectural community who has a visionary plan to integrate San Diego and Tijuana. You don't want to miss this unique opportunity to interact with San Diego community leaders.

We will listen to presentations from both speakers and engage in a facilitated conversation that is optimized by the SimCenter global classroom.

How do we plan and build a more sustainable and resilient San Diego region?

I am endlessly amazed at how many people sit at stop light that are programmed to be stupid and never question the evil dynamic that they have been brainwashed to believe is just a fact of live that can not be changed.

To reduce green house gas emissions have you ever considered actually using the latest technology to design systems for traffic lights that use real time sensors to actually calculate, in real time the optimum stop light sequence changes with the intentional outcome being that the number of vehicles standing at a stop light and uselessly emitting CO2 is reduced to the absolute minimum?
