Hello Happy Campers,

Mark your calendar for going to Clear Lake State Park on June 8th to10th, 2012.

Go to the park website for more information about the park:

http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=473

Clear Lake State Park is on the shores of California’s largest freshwater lake. The area is popular for all kinds of water recreation, including swimming, fishing, boating and water-skiing.

Fishing

The bass fishing is so good that the professional bass fishing organizations, such as U.S. Bass, Cal Bass, Western Bass, have designated Clear Lake as the number one bass lake in the nation, based on numbers of fish caught. There are also catfish, blackfish, Sacramento perch, hitch, crappie and bluegill.

We will be in site # 54, 55 and 56 in the Kelsey Campground.  Directions to get there are: The entrance to the park is on Soda Bay Road 3.5 miles northeast of Kelseyville.

One of the sites can be used for a camper trailer or such.  The maximum vehicle length is 35 feet.  You would pay me for it since I have already reserved and paid for it.  The price would be $70 for two nights.

For tent campers, the cost of the camping trip will be a flat price of $18

Please contact me by email or comments with any questions you have.

I hope we have a good turnout -- the more the merrier!

Happy Camping!

Diane

We hit 2 spots with construction. One was about a 10 min wait and the other was just a few minutes. Other than that nice drive in

There should be plenty for everyone and I am also bringing other treats...I have a picky one and doesn't like cake. But loves chocolate dipped rice crispy treats on a stick with sprinkles. Spoiled kids! LOL Brandon, my baby will be turning 9 on Saturday. I warned him, lots of folks to give him birthday spankins' :)

Would the cake be big enough for all of us? How old will Brandon be?

    June 6, 2012

That's really nice of you Diane! :) I'm going to bake a cake on Saturday and already packed some ice cream in the trailer. You know me...I've always got sweet stuff on board.

Sorry, Suzzy, about not mentioning it sooner. We should all have cake and ice cream for his birthday. I'll pitch in some $$$ or I could even buy a cake, if you'd like. What kind does he like?

    Laurie,
Your grandkids and friend can surely hang out with us. This is family camping not adults only. Suzzy has 3 boys she brings (around 10-13). Sometimes we have 5 or 6 kids.

Matt, Let me know if you need a separate site for your motorhome and I can let you have one of these. It's $70 for both nights. Also, if you are bringing a boat, wouldn't you need your own site for that, too?

    May 30, 2012

  • Diane S

Matt, How much space does your motorhome take up? Wouldn't you need your own site?

    May 30, 2012

  • Diane S

    Anh,
Yes, unfortunately, it would cost $100. Each site holds 8 people and kids count as a person. I am trying to stick to 6 people per site.

Thanks for your question, Suzzy. Knowing the name of the campground will probably make it easier to find the sites. The name of the campground is Kelsey Creek.

    December 26, 2011

  • Diane S

Offhand, I don't know which campground, I will find out, but the info above is what was said about the site.

  • Suzzy

Which campground did you book at? There are several within the Clearlake SP. Some of the campgrounds don't allow larger trailers/rv's
