Abstract:
Google TV brings two great open apps platforms, Chrome and Android, to the biggest screen and best sound system in most households. In this meetup, Paul will provide an overview of Google TV, will pass on some tips and tricks for building great Android apps for big screens, and will talk about the best ways to get apps onto users' TVs. For the remainder of the evening, Paul will be on hand to chat with developers about their apps how to make them look great on Google TV.
About the Presenter:
Paul Saxman is a developer advocate at Google focusing on Google TV. He is passionate about immersive, interactive designs, social software, and lean, mean algorithms, and had been working on these since the 8-bit era. Although he's a web developer at heart, Paul's deep interest in revolutionary platforms has brought him to Android and Google TV.

Sound fail is my fault for not checking earlier. It usually just works in these major conference rooms or at least a system reset will usually clear up any problems. That did not work for us tonight. Sorry.

@David I don't know why the AC is not working as it should tonight. I did my best by propping open outer door, but, the people near it complained it was too cold for them. So, I had to compromise and leave it open just a little bit.

Dan SteginkF'ing great. Paul answered every single question, stayed late and knew his product. I wish all the screenshots hadn't been from 2010 and Google TV had a working emulator, but still very cool. Look out Comcast!

Sai NallapaneniGenerally this is a great meetup group. It has slowed down compared to 2010/11, so hope it picks up soon with some more interesting topics which help developers than focusing on individual companies/groups advertising their products
The presentation did not have much energy and was more like Google TV advertising than explaining the contraints and opportunities for a tv application. I would have loved it if it had some actual example code demonstrations and how they interact with the real estate.

Joseph WolffCouldn't hear well. (No AV). Pace was somewhat slow. Little was covered in the 1hr+. preso. Only one speaker, expected more. Lots more was covered in the Nov 2010 GTV meetup, which was much better. I also liked the v1 GTV a lot too... Also: What business is it of the website providers (such as the Networks) what browser I view their content on? Answer: None of their business (rhetorical question:)). Make it look like another supported web browser so we can view whatever web content (including the Networks') we want wherever we choose. Don't let the networks dictate how we conduct our lives and where we surf.

Tin LToo much wasted time with questions from people who should have already read up on GTV web site about it before going to meeting. Presenter should stay focused on topic and redirect people to RTF Website for questions already answered there. As it was, presenter rushed through the last part of presentation very quickly.

Richard LeeSomewhat interesting info, but too slow pace with too many side tracking questions. Need to keep moving and maybe take Q's at the end, or at periodic points?
