Android 1.5 SDK
Note: This is a joint event being cross-promoted with the Silicon Valley Android Developers Meetup. We do ask that all people planning to attend RSVP here. This will be the only RSVP list submitted to Google Security the night of the meeting. Thanks!
Googler Dan Morrill will be covering the new Android 1.5 SDK in June. We had to move it back a month to allow Dan to focus on Google I/O preparations in May. Dan promises to bring some great example content showcasing the new SDK to this June meeting. If you missed it, an early look release of the 1.5 SDK was announced back on April 13th.
This won't be an introductory Android talk given by Dan. If you missed the introductory Android talk given last year by Dick Wall, it is available on the GTUGs YouTube Channel here:

I'm managing the Berkeley GTUG and I would like to attend the Silicon Valley GTUG tonight in mountain view. Sadly, It is a little far to make it on my bike, and the public transportation looks like a three hour odyssey. Is anyone driving from Berkeley or points nearby that I could catch a ride with?
I would like to see how the big boys run their GTUG meeting in hopes of planning my own meeting here in Berkeley.

Nice talk!! It would be great if you prior to your talk you loaded your notes and code in Android ready form so we could download them and follow your talk real time especially for us visually impaired. It would also be easier for you because you would not need to worry about what we could see(a few times you mentioned that)) I would appreciate a dedicated site where we could download to android all the talks notes and code

Brian CoanWell, this was an interesting talk, when I heard it at Google I/O last month (http://code...
).
But last night didn't add much to that talk, nor did it deliver on "covering the SDK",
so that was disappointing. Good speaker, but not what I was expecting.

Aleksandar GargentaI already had a chance to hear Dan speak at this year's Google I/O, but I still found his presentation very insightful! Thanks! Also, this was a great event for networking. I had a chance to meet many smart folks! Thanks Van, Kevin, David, Google, etc... for putting this together. You guys rock!

Dennis MojadoVery interesting, and shows some relevant info about the Android SDK 1.5. I learned that we shouldn't necessarily go for native development since Dalvik is pretty darned good at what it does.

KimoInteresting but better if the speaker can answer more questions vs hard stop and allow people to talk with him/her after formal meeting.

John BakerIt's nice to use Java and C programming languages and the interface looks good. Although it appeared that when Dan was trying to drag icons they seemed difficult to drag. Maybe there were too many icons or the phone's screen was too small. I'm waiting to decide which phone to buy, get the G1 or wait for a new version. I'm new to Android so I need to check out the user groups and the Wave
