I would like to share the results of our members-only poll with a wider audience. In order to do that, I need to close the poll first. I will be closing the poll one week from when it was started around 10pm on next Tuesday evening. If you have not voted yet and would like to be included in our poll results, please do so soon. The poll link is:

Takes less than a minute to vote and no registration on your part is required with the Doodle service.

Thanks, Van

Hi Folks,

I have rarely asked anything of the group members, but, I am asking a small favor of you all now.

Unless you live in a cave, you know by now that Oracle has sued Google because of the way Android uses the Java language. This poll is to get a feel for the Silicon Valley Web JUG members view of the situation. I am personally very upset by this and believe Oracle is making a huge mistake, but, I don't want to presume that my views are shared by all our members. So, please take one minute to answer this one question about your level of support for or opposition to Oracles recent actions:

Please use your "meetup" name associated with our Meetup group when voting. The beauty of a doodle poll is no registration is required on your part to vote. So, you just need an internet connection, a browser, and about one minute to complete the process. The disadvantage is that it can be gamed by people voting more than once. That is why I am requesting that you identify yourself with your meetup name. If you discover that someone else has voted on your behalf and their vote does not represent your position, you can contact me from your meetup account and request that I remove the imposter's vote.

Thanks, Van
