Friday 1/25 update:
The trails in Monte Bello are drying out -- looking good. If we get measurable rain tonight we'll cancel by 8am Saturday, but for now - ride's on! We're shortening it to 90 minutes, omitting closed/sensitive trails.
Expect winter riding conditions. Wear/bring layers for cold, warm, sunny, &/or foggy-drizzly weather, and expect some muddy patches -- winter in the Santa Cruz Mountains!

This month we’ll start at Monte Bello Open Space Preserve and hit some of the other surrounding preserves. I can’t promise good weather but this is a great area to ride—single-track, oak forests, and ridge top grasslands with stunning views. So come on out, bring your no rain karma, and get back on your bike!
Depending on attendance we'll have 2 or 3 rides. The longest ride will be around 15 miles w/2500' of climbing. Our gentle group might get back a little earlier than the faster riders, but that's ok - our goal is a safe, fun ride for all.
Please RSVP so we have an estimate of group size!
The Nitty Gritty--read me!
We'll be meeting at 9:45, ready to ride by 10:00. This is a social ride; we'll split into groups, regroup as needed within each group, and ride at a casual pace for about 2.5 hours. Our rides always leave right at 10:00!
Directions/Parking--The preserve's main entrance is on Page Mill Road, 7 miles west of Highway 280 and 1.5 miles east of Skyline Boulevard. Parking is available for 45 cars. Additional parking is available at the Los Trancos Open Space Preserve parking area, located directly across Page Mill Road. It takes 25 minutes to drive from 280/Page Mill to the parking lot--Page Mill is a twisty road
We all ride with helmets -- don't forget yours -- and please stay with the ride leaders (or let us know if you decide to leave the group). A Release of Liability Waiver will require your signature.
Rain will cancel. Check for updates before the ride. We'll post an update by 7 AM if we need to cancel.
As Usual: Snacks & Drinks in the parking lot after. Stick around and say hey to your fellow riders.
