This month we'll ride the El Corte de Madera open space preserve. El Corte de Madera is known for challenging routes, but as always we'll have different-paced groups: gentle, moderate, and - depending on the group - a faster-paced group. We'll be meeting at the Skegg's Point parking lot on Skyline Blvd at 9:45, ready to ride at 10:00.
This is a social ride; we'll split into groups, regroup as needed within each group, and ride at a casual pace for about 2.5 hours. Please RSVP to give us an estimate of group size, or if you'd rather not use meetup, email lkg_456 at yahoo.com.
If rain/poor trail conditions cause us to cancel the ride we'll post an update here by 6PM Friday night before the ride, and by 8AM Saturday if the weather worsens Friday night.
Be prepared for a range of weather, from sunny and warm to foggy/cold - the weather on the ridge can be very different from the weather in town! Bring appropriate warm clothing, layers. & we all ride with helmets--don't forget yours.
The Skeggs Point parking area is on the east side of Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard), about 4 miles north of Highway 84 (La Honda Road) and 1.5 miles south of Kings Mountain Road. (Note: Caltrans prohibits a left turn into the lot when approaching from the north.)
