Joshua Bloch will be serving up a few Java Puzzlers as an appetizer before and as dessert after the main course which will be a talk on Effective Java. Effective Java was first released in 2001 and quickly became the standard guide to best practices for the Java programming languages and its core libraries. The second edition was released last year, and it's chock full of new material covering features added in Java 5 and 6. New topics include generics, enums, annotations, autoboxing, and the like. This talk covers some of this new material, and a few things that didn't make it into the second edition.
