Carl Stehle, Founder at Appception

Carl Stehle is an entrepreneur, software architect, developer, and consultant. He has designed mobile, web, desktop, and embeddedsoftware for client and server systems, used worldwide in large andsmall enterprises, and by independent developers. He is currentlyconstructing tools for creating HTML5 hybrid apps in the cloud atAppception.

Presentation: HTML5 Mobile App Development

HTML5 enables mobile developers to create apps that run on multipleplatforms. These web and hybrid apps have a different set of challengesand opportunities than traditional native apps. Hear about some of thekey issues facing HTML5 mobile web and hybrid app developers, and learnhow these are being addressed with several examples and a tool forbuilding HTML5 hybrid apps, the Appception IDE.

John Yeh, Raspberry Pi Based Follow-me Broadband Gateway

Although LinkBON is a recent start-up, its four founders are veterans from IT, Telecom, and Cable TV industries. Jesse Peng was a technology pioneer in ADSL load-balancing routers. He was also a major contributor in Linux code improvement back in 2006. Jesse's brother John Peng is an IT professor at Taiwan's Shu De Technical University, who had guided productization of several innoative technologies . John Yeh is a Telecom Veteran who had held key management positions in public-listed companies, and LinkBON is his 2nd entrepreneur endeavor. Hunter Liao is a finance executive and veteran in Taiwan's cable-TV industry who played key role in LinkBON's initial financing.

Follow-me Broadband Gateway (FBG) is a software-cloud based technology that will enable mobile terminals to achieve high-reliability wireless connections and even bandwidth aggregations using low-cost hardware platforms. Since packet streams are split into multiple wireless links dynamically and re-assembled at the cloud, extra wireless link security becomes an inherent by-product of this technology.Prior to using Raspberry Pi platform, same technology had been tested extensively on Power-PC, Android platforms, and Linux-based notebook computers. Raspberry Pi gave us a popular, low-cost, open platform for more people can try. We hope our effort can help spur more innovations and improve your product toward “mobile broadband everywhere, all the time”.

James Robey, DOM Algebra, LLC

The author has a bachelor degree in Computer Science and has been writing codesince the late 80's, after being introduced to UNIX in elementary school. Twodecades of experience has taught him that increases in computing powershould translate to efficiency of expression as much as efficiency in execution. That principle opens up new opportunities for everyone.
The author is currently based in Denver, Colorado (and visiting Palo Alto,CA for this meeting), where he lives with his wife, a PHD programparticipant at the School of Mines studying Carbon Sequestration techniques. Along with the technical-writing contributions from a long-time friend, the author has spent a little more than the last year developing The Nametag Workshop 110% full-time, without external funding.

Envisioned and written as part of a seven year research effort, sporting more than a year of 110% full-time, hands-on development, The Nametag Workshop will have a world-wide effect in how, when, and what the data you store on the internet can do for you. We offer a unique platform for general web-development that shatters market expectations. By demonstrating this new, yet 100% standards-based, approach to programming HTML, we can reach every market that uses HTML including education, social media, and corporate development, adding to a value equation that does not exist today.

Please visit to view the demonstration we've begun offering to limited audiences.
