In this E-SIG event,  Series A Funding,
entrepreneurs will hear from Mr. Greg Pickrell and  a panel of the
angel investors, corporate investors, VCs and successful entrepreneurs
on their stories in their own words, about how to negotiate a fair term sheet with the VC, which will position the company for the future success.

The SVCWireless E-SIG Program is designed to kick start budding
entrepreneurs, providing information and insight from angel investors
about what they really look for when investing in a business or new
business idea, and from experienced entrepreneurs about how they
succeeded in obtaining their initial round of funding.

Greg Pickrell, Pillsbury. Moderator

Mr. Greg Pickrell has been a corporate and securities lawyer for over 25 years representing emerging growth and high-technology companies. His clients have reflected the growth of Silicon Valley and range from typical startups to the Fortune 500/Global 100 companies. He has broad experience advising companies in a wide range of technologies, including computer hardware, software, Internet, semiconductors, telecommunications and cleantech. He has a wealth of experience in transactions involving Asia, particularly China and Japan.  Mr. Pickrell frequently speaks and writes on his various areas of practice including venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions and international transactions.

Carol Sands, The Angels' Forum

Carol Sands, is the Founder and the Managing Member of The Angels’ Forum and The Halo Funds.  She has spent the last 35 years with investing, entrepreneurial, and/or large corporate institutions.  Carol’s career started in the Midwest where she was a bank officer with First Bank Systems and held marketing or sales positions with Motorola and Xerox Computer Services.  After moving to San Francisco, she was hired into executive positions at Arthur Young (Ernst & Young) and Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers).  Then Carol founded Sands MarketingPlus.

Mark Louie, C.M Capital

Mr. Mark L. Louie serves as a Venture Partner at Mingly China Growth Fund. Mr. Louie serves as a Managing Director, Executive Vice President, and Head of Business Development and Strategy at C.M. Capital Corporation. He was a Venture Partner at Techfund Europe Management SAS. He was also a Partner at TechFarm. He is based in U.S.A. He has 16 years experience as an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co. At Goldman Sachs, Mr. Louie completed the entire range of financings ... including public and private placements of equity and debt, highly structured and innovative transactions, and strategic and mergers and acquisitions assignments including exclusive seller and buyer assignments, raid defense, and strategic alliances for his clients. His clients were concentrated in the defense or aerospace, satellite or communications, transportation, retail, health care, real estate, and winery industries. Mr. Louie’s clients included Hughes Electronics, Lockheed Martin, Qualcomm, American Stores, Catalina Marketing, Ungermann-Bass, Robert Mondavi Winery, and Beringer Wine Estates. He began his investment banking career in New York. Mr. Louie subsequently started Goldman Sachs' West Coast corporate finance effort and worked in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Menlo Park. He serves on the Advisory Council for Stanford University's School of Humanities and Sciences and a Director at K-Swiss Inc. Mr. Louie has earned a J.D., an M.B.A. from Stanford University, an M.A. in Economics and a B.A., with honors and distinction, from Stanford University.

Mark Rose

Mark leads PlaySpan’s Payments and Platform Product management team (acquired by Visa in March 2011). Mark joined PlaySpan after co-founding Spare Change – the first and largest micropayments solution on social networks (acquired by PlaySpan in April 2009). Mark has over 15 years experience in product management and consumer financial services including PayPal, E*TRADE, Yodlee and HedgeStreet. A consumer experience zealot and analytics driven decison maker, Mark advises local startups on consumer experience, analytics and navigating  the mergers and acquisitions path.



Jai Rawat

Jai Rawat - Chief Executive Officer Jai is a successful serial entrepreneur and an investor, advisor and mentor to several startups. Jai has over 18 years of industry experience and has a track record and deep passion for creating exceptional online consumer products.  Jai's first startup Obongo was the pioneer in single sign-on and online wallet technologies. It was adopted by several leading banks and created a reach of over 40m users. Obongo was acquired by AOL where Jai served as the director of product marketing working on several key initiatives with a reach of over 35m users. He was also a founder of AirTight Networks, executive/consulting VP at TheFind, Trackle, myTriggers, Permuto and several other companies.  Jai holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur and an MS in Computer Science from Iowa State University. He has won several awards and recognitions including being recognized as one of the top 10 South Asian business and technology leaders. He is a charter member of TiE Silicon Valley, Co-chair of TiE Internet SIG chair and holds 11 patents.
