Entrepreneur Hiking Challenge - Pitching @ Mission Peak

This is a special hiking / Pitching event! Hike with like minds!

Pitch at the highest peak in Bay Area, show silicon Valley your

passion and energy!

If you are a full time founder and be the winner at this special event, you get:

  • 1 Pitch at Pitch Demo Day
  • 2 A blog post for your startup
  • 3 Private introductions to two investors or mentors

Note: we are still working on ways to select the winner.

Duration: 4.5 hours (including 30m pitching session at top of hill)

Agenda (please arrive before 7:30AM):

7:30AM Introduction at the Assembling area

7:45AM Hiking Start

10:30M Arriving the peak

10:30AM Pitching

11AM going Back

Noon Back to parking lot

Be over prepared!

  • Water – plenty of water (2 litres or more on a hot day)
  • Snacks for energy
  • Layers of clothing – including WARM clothing and windbreaker. It can be cold and windy at the top – very cold and very windy.
  • A cap or wide brimmed hat, knit hat and light gloves – yes, even in the summer.
  • Sunscreen.
  • Insect repellent is usually not necessary, but might be a good idea as there are ticks.
  • Flashlight or headlamp – even if you do not plan to be there when it is dark.
  • Moleskin or glacier ice (for preventing or managing blisters) and a knife or small scissors if not precut.
  • GOOD hiking boots or shoes with thick, comfortable hiking socks (take a second pair of socks, too)
  • A hand towel to wipe sweat or muck
  • (Optional) A camera and a tripod.  If you’re not taking a tripod you’re not going to get the best pictures, trust me.
  • (Optional) Hiking poles

This hiking is not easy and its NOT FOR BEGINNER. Making sure the difficulty level of the event IS NOT beyond the limits of your health & conditioning.

    @vinny Yes, will start pitching once most people get to the peak. Estimated time: 10Am to 10:30AM.

    @Nicole the current plan is Ohlone College since its a little bit easier.

    Mission Peak is a nice little mole to go up at a leisurely pace ( an hour w/15 lbs backpack), however there's no shade on the trails, make sure you have water and don't come down too late this Sunday due to the heat.
