We'll open at 6:30 for a social and networking time.
At 7pm, Chi-Hua Chien of KPCB will talk about the iFund, KPCB's $100 million fund for investing in new iPhone applications. We'll be looking for insight and ideas about the kinds of projects KPCB wants to fund and have a time for open Q&A with Chi-Hua. Then we'll take a break to spend some time mixing.
At 8pm we'll present a brief tutorial on Objective-C, the language that's used to build iPhone apps, followed by a technical Q&A.
We'll adjourn and be out by 9pm.
Thanks for organizing this. I probably won't be able to make the pre-talk dinners but I am excited about the first meeting. I am a Ruby and Audio App developer looking forward to developing on the iPhone; I also organize the Bay Area Computer Music Technology Meetup: http://electronicmusic.meetup.com/152/![]()
We have a half-dozen signups for our March dinner meeting; we're planning to hold it on Monday 3/31 at 7pm in Palo Alto. This will be a very informal time, mainly for networking among developers. If you'd like to join us, email me for more details.
For anyone interested there is an iPhone Developers group on LinkedIn. This group is a resource for identifying and connecting professionals throughout the world that have experience in developing, selling, marketing, managing, supporting and/or creating new businesses around the iPhone.
We look forward to your participation and contribution!

It was great to meet you all last night. Jordan and I enjoyed being a part of your event -- thank you for inviting us to participate.
If you're interested in learning more about iFund opportunities, please check out our web site at www.kpcb.com/ifund. There you'll find a submission site for iFund proposals.
Also, if you'd like to work with iFund companies as discussed, please email jormont@kpcb.com.
Cheers,
CH
Does anyone have a copy of Chi-Hua's presentation or notes from it that they are willing to share?
Since schedule constraints forced our meeting so far out in the future, I'd like to also organize a dinner in Palo Alto for either next Monday 3/24 or the following one, 3/31. Space will be limited, so contact me directly to confirm.
