Hands on JavaFX - Scripting the Scene Graph

Please see here for a photo and directions: http://www.oracle.com... This presentation is a hands-on introduction to JavaFX, focusing primarily on using the JavaFX Script language to drive interactive graphics using the JavaFX scene graph. I'll start with a "Hello, world" program and build it up piece by piece until we have a complete application. At each step of the way, we'll see the code in NetBeans and run it so you can see the results immediately. I'll be covering the following features of the JavaFX platform: language and scene graph basics, sequences, functions, layout, UI controls, classes, calling Java, bind, bound functions, animation, and effects. NEW LOCATION: This meetup will be held at Oracle headquarters in Redwood Shores. Watching the Live Stream Online

Perfect format - code, demo and interaction. Like paid training. To make it even better, have an intermediate session and invite another JavaFX expert around to answer questions

Very useful grounding in the basic use of JavaFX's Scene Graph and sequences. Eye-opening demonstration on JavaFX's code brevity.

    Excellent format. Excellent teacher!

Although I was familiar with most of the discussed topics already, I found the additional "behind the scenes" discussions on JavaFX quite helpful. I would not hesitate to attend another one of Stuart's talks!

A follow up to this hands-on would be nice actually. Diving in a little deeper in more advanced JavaFX key concepts and constructs perhaps?

    Thanks!

Stuart, you did a great job of packing most of the basic concepts of JavaFX into one little application. Good job!
