Speaker Bios:


Kevin Rooney, Partner, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP.Mr. Rooney is a partner in the Corporate practice group in the firm's Palo Alto and San Francisco offices and is chair of the firm's Emerging Growth/Venture Capital and Technology M&A practices. Mr. Rooney has represented many leading Silicon Valley and Bay Area public and private companies. In addition, he has represented a number of Canadian technology and growth companies in U.S. transactions and securities offerings. His practice focuses on a wide variety of corporate, securities and related matters, in particular, mergers and acquisitions and public and private financing transactions. Mr. Rooney is an Adjunct Professor at USF School of Law teaching Corporate Transactions, a new course offering that he designed, and a Lecturer at U.C. Berkeley HAAS School of Business (MBA) co-teaching Business Law. In addition, he has been a guest participant at classes at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Kevin is an Advisory Board Member (Ontario) to the TSX Venture Exchange. Kevin is a charter member of the C100 (Canadians in Silicon Valley). Mr. Rooney received his LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School and a Hons. Co-op B.A.Sc. from the University of Waterloo in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Don Ross, HealthTech Capital. Don has 10 years Angel investing experience and currently is a Board Director, Sand Hill Angels (SHA) and Co-Chair, SHA Deal Quality Committee. His investments have included companies in mobile, tech, eHealth, diagnostics, and medical devices. Don has private board experience and startup operating experience as CEO and VP. He cofounded and sold a life sciences publishing company and is co-author of two college-level nutrition textbooks. Don earned a BA, Architecture with honors, Berkeley.

 

Chris Yeh, VP Marketing, PBworks. Chris Yeh has been building Internet businesses since 1995. He is the VP Marketing for PBworks, which provides highly vertical solutions that help businesses work more efficiently and effectively. Millions use PBworks each month for partner/client collaboration, new business development, project management, social intranets, and knowledge management. Previously, he was the first investor in and interim CEO of Ustream.TV, which provides an open and distributable platform for live interactive online video. Chris is also an active angel investor and the founder and Chairman of the Harvard Business School Technology Alumni Association. Chris earned two degrees from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
