Studied computer science so that I could become a video games programmer (Xbox/PS2/C++). Did that for a few years until I hated the games industry. Moved to Australia. Did a couple of stints in finance (still feel guilty) as well as some more exciting things like Microsoft Surface. Left the rat race. Joined a solar startup which did industrial control systems. Ended up as a C#/.NET developer which has served me well, although currently looking outside of Microsoft for inspiration. I'm a big believer in lean development and systems thinking, and like to think about the economic driving forces behind the world and our behaviour.
I'm looking for opportunities to join a startup or even co-found something. I am a techie at heart but have a lot more to contribute to a business. I would never be happy just sitting and coding under orders. I recognize the importance of finding partners who are more business/marketing minded. I'm really passionate about social enterprise and especially disruptive ideas.
Device Logic (solar tracking). Switch Automation (home automation). Amnesia Razor Fish (digital agency). InvestorWeb (online trading). Kuju Entertainment (video games)
I'm itching to embark on a new, socially worthwhile, tech venture. I'll bring the engineering, experience & money. You bring the same. Plus some ideas & customers. :)
