Very Vintage Swapp

Our first swapp will be held at the Garment Room - an upscale vintage store and art gallery in the heart of Soho! This is one of my favorite new places to visit for vintage and a classic Soho experience (no pre-fab, chain store vibe). Owner Tiffany Nicole and crew have high-end vintage pieces for sale, re-worked and updated. Each piece is a gem! Besides vintage clothing, there is also a gallery where local artists exhibit their work. It'll be a great evening for shopping, swapping, sipping wine and talking vintage!http://www.thegarment...

IMPORTANT:
I will be whittling down the size of this meetup group as soon as the event is over. All members who want to stay in the group must rsvp yes, or no by the end of the rsvp deadline. If this is not the group for you, feel free to remove yourself on your profile page. Thanks!!!!

Fee: $10 payable in advance through paypal, $15 at the door - rsvp required! no walk-ins.

Clothing Requirements: Minimum 3 vintage items (1985 and earlier) in EXCELLENT condition - maximum 12 items. This will be an even trade event, i.e., bring 3 items, get 3 items.

Proceeds will go to: The Garment Room, refreshment costs and SWAPP expenses, and to Dress For Success

Refreshments will be provided as part of your entrance fee.

THe Very Vintage Swapp was so much fun! THe ladies were great. There was delicious wine and cheese. And I found over 10 amazing vintage pieces. I would definitely do this again

Lovely evening with great company. The Garment Room is such a creative and inspiring place to chill out. Everyone was so fun and friendly! We chatted, while drinking wine and eating delicious chocolate, fruit, gourmet cheese and crackerks! I scored amazing pieces, including vintage aprons from Loren's own collection! This was one of my favorite swaps yet!! For those of you who missed out, keep an eye out for the next swap!!!

What a GREAT swap! Vintage clothes are just my thing so I was waiting for something like this for a while and I was not disappointed. Awesome selection of clothes/accessories and all around friendly people at the meet. I walked away with some to-die-for pieces that I cant wait to wear.

This swapp felt more like a great party between good friends than any I've been to in a while! Thanks everyone for making it a night to remember and for being the first to sample the SWAPP experience!

Hi All. Please pay on-line to save yourself $5.00 at the door and please change your rsvp to "no" if you know you are not going to make it.

Ah. I've been to a couple of swaps with the ticket system. That seems to work out nicely.

These swaps will not be a free-for-all like 5bcs, Jill. Depending on the number of attendees it will be a person to person swapp or a slightly more organized system with tickets. And you are welcome to take home anything you don't swap.

Will we be swapping with each lady individually or will it be a free-for-all (like five boroughs swaps)?

  • Loren

    Only if people come:)

I certainly will! I think this swap is going to be pretty fancy! :)

That's fantastic! If you have any other friends you think would be interested in the swapp please ask them to join our group and rsvp! We have plenty of spaces left.

I ended up working a freelance job at The Garment Room yesterday- the owner is lovely. I was hired to style fashion models for a photoshoot, and she let us use the space and pull clothing from the racks. Looking forward to going back there for the swap- its a very cool scene.

What is vintage? In a nutshell, clothing and accessories created at LEAST 25 years ago - no later than 1985. Please look out for an email coming to you soon with more details and photo examples.
