Would you like to learn Swedish?
Have you learnt Swedish in the past and would like to continue?
Then come along to Fika och Snacka, the brand new Meetup group for all those interested in Swedish and Sweden!
The main purpose of the group is for learners of Swedish to get together to practise speaking, and also to socialise! There are no evening classes in Swedish available in Glasgow at the moment, so this could be your only opportunity to speak Swedish and meet other like-minded folk. It is perfect for those who have been learning Swedish by themselves and would like some extra practise, or for those who have perviously taken classes but wish to continue practising and learning.
People from all different levels of Swedish are welcome, from beginners to fluent speakers!
Any native Swedes are also welcome to come along and converse with us - we also plan to celebrate all the Swedish festivals such as Lucia, Midsommar and even crayfish parties! The more the merrier!
There is also a plan to have regular showings of Swedish films in the near future, at Glasgow University, as are outings to see Swedish films at the GFT.
So the time has come round again for pepparkakor and saffransbullar, not forgetting Kalle Anka! Yes it's Christmas time!
This year I thought it would be a good idea to have a Christmas Night Out for the group where we can all get together and celebrate what a successful year it has been for the group!
I hope as many of you as possible can come along. Read more
