Converting Objective-C Code to Swift

We're pleased to share our next speaker, David Kobilnyk! He has quite a laudable project to share!

David's been working on converting all of the example projects in iOS Programming: The Big Nerd Ranch Guide from Objective-C into Swift. He will be walking us through how to convert some Objective-C code samples into Swift.

Experienced Objective-C programmers will see how to perform tasks they are familiar with, in Swift.

The talk will be useful to non-Objective-C programmers as well, since they will likely need to translate Objective-C code snippets they find to solve various problems in iOS development.

6:30-7pm:  Doors open. Light refreshments and snacks. (Thanks, ThoughtWorks!)

7pm: Talk + Q & A

After, we head to a nearby bar to continue the conversation

Building is at the intersection of Pine & Montgomery. Entrance is on Montgomery St.

Getting there:

•  5-minute walk from the Montgomery St. Bart station. 25- minute walk (or an $8-ish Uber-x ride) to the King St. Caltrain station

• Closest parking lot off of Pine street with the Bank of America building.

• Bike Parking - there are racks in the underground parking lot next to the building on the Pine St. side.
