Central London SUN-day

Solar scope viewing at an event in Regent's Park, organised by Eric Emms. Further details to come in time. Coincides with International Sun Day. There will be some solar telescopes there set up with filters so you don't blind yourself - as always, do NOT look directly at or through any kind of lens or mirror at the sun unless you really know what you're doing and it is well protected with the proper foil to block most of the sun's light.  Bring your own picnic for lunch.

Meeting by Hanover Gate (not at the hub)

There's now a facebook event for it, organised by Eric from the Baker Street Irregular Astronomers facebook group, link to the Sun day group with details (I suggest you also follow/sign up to the event there if you have facebook):

The Refractor needs to be a relatively low F number to hold the full Solar Disc, hence small scope in the Pics.

Ah yes, the grey polo. The small photos on meetup profile pics can be hard to link to real people sometimes, espeially if I haven't met folk many times yet, or not for a while.

Eric has a Flikr group set up with photo highlights of this enjoyable day. Was a great turnout and the sun was shining throughout the morning and early afternoon. And it sure put on a good performance for us with the prominences. https://www.flickr.com/groups/clondonsunday/
