Thanks for coming everyone...that was un enserio loco fiesta. Nearly 5 days have gone by and my voice has only improved from completely mute to Godfather-like rasp.

Sorry to hear about your phone Lydia--but your pinatas were seriously cool. Thanks again.

Great time! I loved everyone who got up in a Mexican get up. I'll post pictures this week.

Great party! My only complaint is that my phone was stolen. Someone called my friend saying his name was Nigel that night. Ring a bell? It's a black Nokia E63, if I remember correctly. It has a shot from Blazing Saddles as the wallpaper. If you have any information please let me know.

On a somewhat related subject, I FOUND a RING that evening. Anyone who lost a ring please contact me to describe it. I'd love to find its owner, willing karma to return my phone to me.

J4 is very much in the works! As a start, put Saturday, July 2nd in your calendars for a massive 4th of July Celebration and start planning what you're going to wear...it's a Saturday so no excuse for not showing up in your (North) American colours.

    May 8, 2011

  • Benjamin

Yup, already started planning the fourth of July.

It was a great event thanks to Ben for organising. I really enjoyed catching up with friends and frisbee players :-)
I could only find a spot to have dinner downstairs and by the time I got back some of you had left. But look forward to seeing you at the next event

Was so much fun! And my fingernails still remind me of the night ;)
I met so many, but got little phone numbers. Please message me if we met and I'd love to meet again over coffee or coronas :P

Bar was understaffed, but nice venue and great crowd. The jazz club downstairs was very cool.

Loved the event. Maybe put in a suggestion for more barstaff in the main area next time. I wasn't big on the singing act this time. Thanks for getting specials on Corona and tequila. Can't wait for the next event.

If you don?t know many people look out for the people listed as event organizers, but this is a community of friends of friends of friends so it?s ok to just talk to whoever like at a house party.

I may be hard to spot since I'll be disguised as a Mexican with a sombrero, poncho, chaps, and boots.

Best places for a real-deal margarita aren't the Mexican places (which are all pretty ordinary), but the best cocktail bars in town. Go to Eau de Vie or Shady Pines, maybe even The Norfolk. And maybe your best option is the newest live music bar in Sydney, Rock Lily at Star City, which has a dedicated tequila bar.

@Troy: do you have a financial interest in Agave? :-)

    April 25, 2011

  • Troy F

@Richard, there are actually good places. Try Agave on Crown Street. There is also a place in Bondi Jn called Fiesta on Oxford.

    April 24, 2011

  • Richard

Where in Sydney can you get an authentic Margarita?

    April 23, 2011

  • Benjamin

Awesome on the pi├▒atas. I'm sure we'll find a bat or a broom stick.

    April 14, 2011

Arriba, abajo, al centro, adentro! Who's bringing the agave?

    1 · April 13, 2011

  • Lydia S.

Announcement to all: I will be bringing bona fide pinatas for the celebration. And they won't be kiddie pinatas, if you know what I mean. Can anyone bring a small wooden bat?

Hi all, there's a pretty good Mexican menu that'll be available on the night. Also note that Martini Club will be playing from ~9-10pm and they're awesome! Should also be a decent range of Tequilas from $5 shooters to more expensive "sippers" for the true alcoholics.

    April 13, 2011

  • Troy F

@Carolyn...taquitos? What for? They're just fried American versions of spring rolls. I vote NO!

    April 9, 2011

  • carolyn

    What about Taquitos?

    April 9, 2011

We're organizing Mexican food at the venue special for the event--probably just burritos or maybe tacos as well. They actually used to be a mexican restaurant a few years ago and we're also suggesting that they borrow/hire some mad mex/guzman y gomez employees for the evening who are familiar with the process.

We're also working with them and a tequilla company to do mexican beer and tequilla specials.

It'll be a pretty big event in general.

Does this place serve Mexican food?

    March 7, 2011

  • Benjamin

Apparently El Guapo, master of the Espanish language accidently spelled 6th as "seite" instead of "seis".
