Nacion,

On the Fifth of May, miliones de gringos all across North America will celebrate of our proclaimed Mexican nacional holiday as an excuse to tip back a few Cornonas.

In remembrance of something that may have happened a long time ago in Mexico possibly involving a war or bullfight--we will drink in Sydney.

There'll be Mexican drinks specials, Mexican food specials with REAL Mexican food, pinatas, prizes for best dressed, etc, etc.  It's looking like quite a big night.

6pm-8pm: Free entry IF you're in a Mexican or Star Wars costume ($10 otherwise)
After 8pm: $10 charge IF you're in a Mexican or Star Wars costume ($20 otherwise)
In other words, get there early and dress-up.

SPREAD THE WORD!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of our biggest and best parties...and this year we've taken it to a new galaxy!!!!
Wear anything you like but prizes for best Mexican or Star Wars costumes (May the 4th be with you!)
    There's an event tonight where 40-50 of us will be making guacamole and otro Mexican tapas at my place from 6:15-9:30. It's a really good opportunity to get to know some of the other expats that will be amongst the hundreds of us at Cinco de Mayoon Saturday. I live near Hyde Park, one block off Oxford St in Surry Hills.
    Details for tonight are on the event link below
    I just created an event for newcomers (everyone's invited) to make some guacamole and new friends so that you know you'll recognize lots of people at Cinco de Mayo this Saturday.
    This Thursday we'll be making Guacamole, Chili con Queso, Pico de Gallo, and other Mexican taps at my apartment near Hyde Park just off Oxford St. BYO cervesas.
    The Cinco de Mayo event will officially be at the Argyle. We're going to deck out the entire venue and are getting our friend Cisco to make his authentic tacos again. Feel free to invite all of your non American friends via the facebook event as well.
    Please keep the posts on this event wall related to the event itself. The best place to talk about ncaa basketball March madness or making new friends is on the Facebook wall of the profile Sydney expat Americans. There's a link on the main page if you're not friends with Sydney expat Americans yet.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
