Beach Bash: 7km Obstacle Challenge- Central Coast

This is a 7km tough-mudder-like beach obstacle course race. There are 17 obstacles along the way. - not a race, but a team challenge. Emphasis is on FUN (although you should be at least of average fitness).

This is not exclusively an American Expat event so feel free to invite your fit friends. We're also teaming up with people from my bootcamp meetup group.

We currently have more than 20 people signed up which means that we've negotiated a 10% discount for our team.

Team Theme & Costume: Flouro!
***Our team will also be featured for an outdoor magazine article!

We have a 10:30am start time, so no crazy early morning, but plenty of afternoon to soak up the sun.
...
Cost is $72 per person with our team discount code: NEON

*We’re also going to fix up a central coast beach house for the weekend, for those who want to make a weekend of it, a separate post will follow about this*

Rides: In the end you're responsible for your own transportation, but there will be plenty of people with vehicles for carpooling. Just post on the wall if you have space in your car or need a ride (don't ask me). You can also get fairly close on the train and then take a 14km group taxi.

Reccomended Train:
Take the Newcastle and Central Coast Line train (CityRail)
Dep: 7:46am  Central Station Platform 7, Sydney
Arr: 9:29am  Tuggerah Station Platform 2
> We have an 8 seat van rented to shuttle people from Tuggerah train station.

If you can't find a ride and want to go direct to the park:

Take the Newcastle and Central Coast Line train
Dep: 7:21am Central Station Platform 10
Arr: 8:44am Gosford Station Platform 2
Take the 22 bus (Red Bus Service)
Dep: 8:50am Gosford Station (Stand 1)
Arr: 9:56am , The Entrance

Hi Monica, I don't have a car and not sure how I'm getting there yet. Would you mind if I ride with you? I'll pitch in for gas... I mean petrol :) Have you heard anything about the house yet?

hi Kayli, SOrry did not see your message until now. Transportation would have been no problem but I;ve heard you are not going. I sort of chicken out, it looks sort of tought but will be there for Superbowl on Monday. Hope to see you there

Hey everyone, I just found out yesterday I have to go out of town for work this weekend. I already registered for the beach bash, but I found out I can transfer it to someone else if I email the details ahead of time. Contact me asap if you want to go and haven't registered yet. Thanks!

If you haven't registered yet be sure to do it before midnight tonight.

People have been asking how fit you need to be to do the beach bash. It's 7km in sand with obstacles which compares to running at least 10 miles/16km on the road without stopping. You should at least be fit enough to run the city2surf without stopping.
