Sydney Expat Americans Message Board › Silly Season

December is called the Silly Season in Sydney because of the number of holiday parties, long lunches and just the number of occasions that must be attended.
One thing I thought I'd share about my Silly Season experience is the taxi situation. Taxis are scarce on Friday and Saturday evenings from about 10pm onward. Best to pre-book, or if possible to make other arrangements. Taxi drivers are in such a good position that they often will refuse to take anyone who is too far from the CBD too rowdy.
Does anyone else have experiences with this time of year that they'd like to share?
