Why: Professional Songwriting Tuition, Workshop, Song Critique & an Open-Mic evening.
Songwriters, composers, lyricists and even poets can meet with award winning songwriter, ASCAP affiliated music publisher and Songwriting Teacher Jacques (Mario) Gentil 'monthly' for professional songwriting training, workshop & critique of developing songs, and an open mic presentation of original music, and a yearly songwriters camp-seminar.
It is intended that songs presented are non finished. Those with work that have been professionally recorded are invited to submit them separately for professional evaluation and possible publishing opportunity. A study of the tools and techniques of songwriting will be followed by a workshop/critique where your "song in progress", will be broken down and assessed in detail looking at theme potential and the best lyrical and melodic approach. We will also look at prosody, hooks, structures, and a lot more.
This is a great opportunity for developing songwriters who strive to improve their craft, to receive professional feedback.

We will be back in Sydney as promised for our monthly "business approach to songwriting" session, a song critique workshop, professional feedback on individual songs and ending the day with an open-mic evening, all for the benefit of our meetup members long-awaiting such opportunity. Our last (First Sydney Workshop) was a great success.
