Unix/Linux memory management is an important area each DBA should feel comfortable with. It is important to know how to answers such questions as "Do we have enough memory?", "How much memory do we need for a system X?" etc.
Unfortunately there is no straight forward answer to the memory management related questions. During this session we will go though the Unix operational memory management concepts in relation to the way Oracle database and related processes.
As result we should have a good understanding of the concepts, challenges and diagnostic methods available today.
You can find a slide desk for the presentation under the following URL: All Oracle DBAs have to know about Unix Memory Monitoring
