Mogens is a charismatic figure in the Oracle World. He started his company Miracle in 2000 along with a childhood friend, after over 10 years with Oracle. He is a co-founder of www.oaktable.net and an Oracle ACE Director. In 2008 he appeared in the popular TV series 'The Secret Millionaire' in his native Denmark. His presentation style is sometimes contentious, often hilarious and always challenges you to think about what you think you know, teaching you more.

When he isn't making us laugh he is busy with his other project, their
own Miracle micro brewery.

Mogens will bring his unique experience and humour to this PowerPoint-Free talk and Pythian as always will bring pizza and refreshments.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear Mogens' presenting for Oracle Community in Sydney.

Hello Community!

The following that Mogens have to say in regards to agenda for the event.
As you see your questions are VERY welcome!

Please do not hesitate to sent me your questions and I will be happy to sort them and sent pass to Mogens. Let's set the checkpoint for the question to be sent end of this week.

=============================================
Hello there,

I'll be rather database specific, including options, etc. Questions are VERY welcome in advance, and I'll answer any question, whether it has to do with Oracle or not :-).

My agenda will look like this:

1. Historic walk-through of the Oracle database licenses (helps you understand some things you can see today which might puzzle you).
2. CPU and named users and other license forms.
3. A couple of cases.
4. How to handle the Oracle License Police.

Med venlig hilsen & Best regards -

Mogens Nørgaard
CEO, Miracle A/S

The agenda will be like this as far as I know:
- zero slides
- lots of fun
- of course, licensing is what everyone should be thinking about in
May of every year

He's an entertaining speaker. Just hope Oracle's Licencing Enforcement Officers don't lock him up.

Despite of technical challenges Mogens did a very good job! I would recommed anyone to attend his presentations. Just to give you some idea on the tech difficulties: the main issue was that the primary laptop the communications were tested on dead at arrival. We managed to get the presentation going on the reserve laptop that fail to connect to WiFi network.

Great to hear some war stories from the licensing trenches on the front line. Well worth the effort to attend.....

Despite the connection difficulties - we're still ironing this process out, it's experimental and few have tried it! - the meetup was very helpful.
I certainly took away some ideas on dealing with licensing that will I'm sure prove their worth.
Mogens as usual managed to make a very serious matter feel light and good-spirited.

I was privileged to see Mogens present at InSync10 last year. His licensing presentation was very informative and enlightening. Hopefully he brings some beers from the Miracle brewery with him.
