Hi guys sorry I missed seeing you all yesterday and Karel I wasnt able to explain at the time as my shoulder dislocated yesterday morning so instead of being at the movies I was at the emergency which was like being in a drama within itself...

      Hope you will mend soon.

Hi sweetie thanks so much - lovely of you I hope so too

Great to see everyone yesterday despite a terrible movie.

Can I suggest that the next time we go to a commercial cinema like Event or Hoyts that we buy a few voucher booklets? At Hoyts they're $55 for 5 tickets and at Event they're $60 for 5 tickets.

It's a big savings if we buy a couple of these voucher booklets and shared amongst the group!

    Cheers!

HI ARE WE MEETING IN THE FOYER OF THE MOVIES?

    July 5, 2013

  • Tim L.

Sorry guys can't make tomorrow. ..hope you're not seeing man of steel....2.5 hours of explosions and repetitive tedious effects. ..no worthy emtional content ....and very unsatisfying if u have seen the originals... no more than 5 out of 10...

    Here we go...

    Sat 6 July - 1pm - Hoyts Entertainment Quarter
    The Lone Ranger
($19 regular ticket, $16 with AWG members card)

    See you all there!

And yes, Despicable Me is awesome! :)

Monsters U is quite a simple plot.. Nothing new...
Go Lone Ranger and World War Z

I've heard despicable me 2 is awesome...

    I've seen superman, monsters, Gatsby...

    July 3, 2013

  • Andrew L.

Can I suggest The Lone Ranger again? I think a lot of people have seen Monsters University, Superman and other films because they've been out for a little while. No one has seen Lone Ranger as it doesn't come out until Thursday - a brand new film allows us as writers to look objectively and not bring pre-conceived ideas. It will make us question the film, despite our preference for genre, and ask why it works or doesn't work.

    • Desre

Dont you think the Lone Ranger will be repetitive same thing over & over - man of steel has a love story drama and action for you guys

      July 2, 2013

    • Andrew L.

Desre, it may or may not be. Who knows? Just thought it might be a good option since not one of us has seen it yet.

For anything around the 1.00pm kick-off, I'm up for what I think was the original three - Monsters U, Man of Steel or Lone Ranger. The Internship as a last resort . . .

    July 2, 2013

  • Brett F.

How about World War Z, the internship, despicable me, Lone Ranger or Epic

I'd prefer to see movies across a wide genre

    July 2, 2013

  • Karel

I haven't seen Gatsby yet... Anyone up for that - if it's playing within our time slot?

    July 2, 2013

    • Desre

If its a situation where there are more who have seen it and dont want to see it again, maybe we can arrange for those who havent seen the Great Gatsby to go to see it next week in the evening & Karl it will be fabulous for us to all have a coffee afterwards including those who dont want to see it again and analyze & discuss it

      July 2, 2013

    • Desre

or man of steel - the effects look amazing I just checked it out

      July 2, 2013

  • Lynne P.

I am happy with original 3 suggested. I have seen Gatsby.

    July 2, 2013

  • Brett F.

    Please not Gatsby

    July 2, 2013

  • Louise W.

happy to see any of the other three first mentioned too

    July 2, 2013

  • Amanda A.

I was kind of hoping for Monsters U . . . Loved Gatsby. Lone Ranger is fine.

    July 2, 2013

  • flip w.

I've seen Gatsby too, don't need to see it again so soon. I will see something else at the same time. No program out yet for Saturday.

    July 2, 2013

  • Phil P.

    July 2, 2013

or a movie that isnt pure action (the suggestions below :) if not The Great Gatsby

    June 28, 2013

  • Desre

The Great Gatsby would be amazing to discuss & analyze

    June 27, 2013

  • Andrew L.

Can I rock the boat and say Lone Ranger? :-)

    June 27, 2013

  • Karel

Now we're getting closer to the date, what movie would you all like to see?

    I vote for:

    Lone Ranger
    Man of Steel
    Monsters University

    Any other suggestions?

    June 27, 2013

    • Phil P.

I'm good with any of those...unless Casablanca is playing somewhere ....hmmm, hint hint for analysis ;-)

      June 27, 2013

  • flip w.

Any of those are fine by me.

    June 27, 2013
