Fix-it Night

Synshop is having a  "Fix It" night, one night a month.   Bring something from home you are having trouble with, and tap into the community to fix it, we will also perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

Examples of repairable items include: a phone, computer, drill, printer, bike, furniture, lawn mower, cars, , models, toys, clothing etc..

We need shop volunteers to help people who don't know how to "fix it" otherwise they would have by now. Volunteers to cover the different general disciplines, computer, electronics, sewing, wood, mechanical etc...

Members, please speak up and give back to the shop by volunteering a couple of hours a month, this doesn't have to be a long term commitment, you could do it just once or as many times as you want. People who volunteer will make new friends and have fun coaching people on teardown and diagnosing why it failed.

Hello! I read that there is an open workshop tonight...is there anyone who might be able to help me fix a wire that came loose back onto my LED light? It needs to be soldered and it looks easy...but I know nothing about soldering!

I may bring in my mom's all-in-one karaoke mic. I had tripped on the wire and since then the mic's power has been going on and off. I'm assuming there's some loose wires. Anyways, I hope I can get some knowledgeable people to help me figure it out. Thanks!

I swear Krux said he needed a part from a microwave for one of the power projects. The shop currently has a microwave. Do you want it back or can we use parts.

I'm going to be out of town and won't be able to make it to the event. I have a microwave that I can donate to the shop which needs a quick fix. It runs but there is something wrong with the latch/sensor so you have to hold a button down in order for it to run. It's sitting in my office and I can bring it to the stop tomorrow if people can make use of it. Fix it, part it, whatever. Let me know.

We should also point out that we are unable to fix intangible things like "Society" or "The Establishment".
