Lockpicking Night

I want an excuse to practice my lock picking, so what better way then to schedule a themed open night that focuses on locksport.

Locksport is the sport or recreation of defeating locking systems. Its enthusiasts learn a variety of skills including lock picking, lock bumping, and a variety of other skills traditionally known only to locksmiths and other security professionals. Locksport followers enjoy the challenge and excitement of learning to defeat all forms of locks, and often gather together in sport groups to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and participate in a variety of recreational activities and contests. Locksport is often practiced at computer security events such as DEFCON.

Never pick or manipulate with the aim of opening any lock that does not belong to you, unless you have been granted explicit permission by the lock's rightful owner.

Never pick a lock that is in use.  The practice of lock picking can break functioning locks.  Only use practice locks.

    I had fun! I learned that I wouldn't make a good burglar.

I hope everyone had fun. Sorry if there was confusion that this was just an open night and would not be a formal class.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
