The Westchester Tai Chi Meetup Group Pages

We are a group of professional Tai Chi Instructors who are passionate about sharing our Tai Chi experience with others. It doesn't matter whether you've been practicing for years or just a fresh beginner, you can always find something in our group.

Our Teachers have extensive experience in a traditional variety of Yang Style Tai Chi Forms, such as Short Form, Long form, Two-Person Forms, Push Hands, Chi Kung and Meditation, Taoist Philosophy, Self Defense, Tournament Competition, and Tai Chi Weapon Forms as well, such as Tai Chi Stick, Broadsword, and Double-edged Sword.

We offer Tai Chi classes of different levels organized by The Tai Chi School of Westchester, est. 1978; a school specialized in Tai Chi instruction in Westchester New York, New York City and throughout Connecticut.

Master Domingo Colon, the Director of the Tai Chi School of Westchester, has an extensive and profound background in Tai Chi starting in 1965 studying with several world renowned Tai Chi Masters, Wm. C. C. Chen, C. K. Chu and B. P. Chan.

Master Colon also studied physical therapy to maximize a melding of Eastern and Western healing methods. This background and training allows master Colon to clearly and simply teach the important details of the art of Tai Chi so that everyone will reach their personal goals easily.

Master Colon is the author of “Senior’s Tai Chi Workout” and “Teaching Tai Chi to Special Populations” and has taught for the MS Society, American Heart Association, Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation, and many hospitals, colleges, and corporations.

We specialize in teaching Tai Chi on an individualized basis in small classes to help each student develop at their own pace and focus on their own particular needs. This approach is vastly different from many other schools that have large classes aand teach only from the "follow me" method asking you to learn a complex art merely by watching rather than receiving clear explanations , descriptions, and answers to your questions to allow you to perform Tai Chi correctly.

You are welcome to visit us at any time. As a member of the Westchester Tai Chi Meetup Group, you are invited to take a FREE CLASS on your first visit to the Tai Chi School. Please visit for our full class schedule and other details.

We look forward to assisting you in exploring and enjoying Tai Chi.
