Ok this looks like a fun one from many aspects including a spontaneous casino night offering from host GSN. Tomorrow we have Tony Parisi talking about a technology that is coming of age and we are likely to hear more about. It's WebGL and it sits on top of the lingua franca of high performance rendering graphics API which is OpenGL. OpenGL ES is btw, the native of the native for both iOS and Android as is a subset of OpenGL which is the primary on most laptops/desktops/consoles (exception is DirectX however most PC's also support OpenGL now too). In other words most high performance game engines and applications on any platform use a form of OpenGL and now we can access OpenGL in the browser easily with no plugins using WebGL.
Tony is also speaking at the HTML5DevConf along with many of the industries leading technologists and designers so hey, register if you haven't already :) . I think Tony's one day WebGL class hosted by HTML5DevConf may be sold out now (even after adding 5 extra) but maybe we can talk him in to doing another if not squeezing in one now then in the future. Stay tuned.
In Addition to Tony at the meetup we will have a speaker form Ludei which is making a game engine using WebGL and OpenGL ES technologies, so another yay.
For those that get there early we have a special treat from GSN which is Casino night hosted by them. 21 and over because alcohol.
