An introductory look into XNA 4.0. I will be coding a small game from scratch while explaining concepts specific to the XNA platform.

Topics will include:

  • Full Screen 2D graphics
  • Keyboard, Mouse, and XBox 360 controller support
  • Sound effects
  • Collision Detection
  • Sprites
  • Keeping score and using Fonts

I would highly recommend bringing your laptop and coding along with me. By the end of the presentation you will have a fully functional game.

Brian did a great job in his presentation. I really enjoyed how he created multiple versions of the same class, so he could step through the creation process through commenting in/out code. Very well organized.

If you're looking for a cheap no thrills board that's compatible with Micro.Net I would recommend the Panda II. I'll be bringing mine along for anyone who wants to check it out.

Don't forget to check out the Micro.NET meeting for July -- bring cash to the XNA meetup if you want Gene to order a board for you!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
