Welcome to tallahassee's first Hackathon.
This is an opportunity for developers to come together and work in a competitive and collorabative environment to push the limits of what can get done in a time constrained project. For our first challange we will be developing a Windows 8 game in 24hrs or less.
This event will kick off on June 14, 2013 with a short presentation by Joe Healy on game development using the Game Maker engine. Afterwards we will shortly go over all the rules and start hacking on our projects. We will provide food and drinks onsite, but if you need your favorite enegry drink to work, bring a can with you! You will need to bring everything that you need to work on this project; A computer, powercords, ... We will provide power and wireless internet. At Midnight we will close up shop for the night.
We will resume hacking bright and early at 9AM on Saturday, and work until the final product is due at 7PM. Projects must be checked in at 7, no Exceptions! At this point the judges will review all the projects and determine who will win some of our fabulous prizes! Winners will be announces by 8PM.
YoYo Games LTD has also donated a copy of GameMaker: Studio Pro that will be given to the team that develops the top game with the gamemaker studio platform!
