Hi Cher, Glad you found your way to the West Coast Photo Group. We have lots of online and in person events. The folks are friendly and will help you get back into the hobby. Don't be shy about asking questions or making suggestions. Most of all welcome aboard!
With my luck and no one seeing it other than Freaks, it will be gone next week. My idea is better. And I bet over half of the 27 signed up did see it already and will be ready to talk.
But I have verified that Burns Court WILL have that Iranian film for the 18th but I am sworn to secrecy so if it gets out I will now be able to blame you.
And it is too bad but that incredible film Shame is gone that you will hear me lamenting about in my weekly letter to the Freaks.
Cher: But Viggo is so anal there ain't no anal left. He was the best thing in the film. And though there is nothing in there prurient for you, watching Keira get spanked throughout has its guilty pleasures for young and old who retain an ounce of testosterone. And since these guys were the ones who invented the process, did they even have rules of engagement back then? Certainly no ethics boards. And there is plenty of The Chasm in there to behold! Just no Cronenberg intensity.
Cher: I really need to have some psychologists around to help with the discussion. I saw this at a festival and was a tad disappointed but the philosophy in the dialogue is intriguing. And if you are hot for Viggo you will be disappointed because he plays the most anal character in the history of film. No full frontal shower scenes for sure. My favorite of his, A History of Violence done by Cronenberg as well. Head Dork
Cher: I dare you to watch The Skin I Live In. It is so radical and terrifying that I am certain you will need to give yourself your own therapy after seeing it. Really my kind of very sick film. Far sicker than Bad Education. And Antonio was amazing. And it is so obvious Pedro won't be happy until he is the beautiful woman he wants to be, Penelope incarnate. Or maybe the perfect combo of Penelope and his mother or ... Wait I have to stop or I might have you illin'.
Cher, The Sea Inside is one of the great humanist films ever. I bet you hated The Skin I Live In. And check out a dizzying documentary centered on Hitchcock and the Cold War called Double Take. Glad to have found another Art Freaky Thinker. Sarasota is awesome! I spent all day there Sunday searching for something I didn't find but will keep going. Head Dork
Cher, it was a pleasure to meet you at the Thinkers yesterday too! I hope to see you next month
