To the Thinking Freaks in Need of Therapy:
I am, in the middle of my film festival orgy in Sarasota but the reminder for the Hermeneutics Thinker meetup on Monday April 23 in Carrollwood got me thinking about our combined Thinker and Film Freak meetup Sunday April 29 at the Jimmie B Keel Library to watch and then talk about David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method about the birth the earliest formal psychological thought. After three viewings I have warmed up to the film as art but more importantly it really gets people thinking about things. This is evidenced by there being over twenty thinkers and nearly twenty Freaks signed up for the viewing.
I had promised a discussion afterwards and that can’t happen in the Library, so I have reserved the big room in the back of Grille 116 nearby on Dale Mabry to move to for our post film stuff. I have been there three times and really like the place and they promised me to make sure there are enough extra chairs to accommodate us, no matter how many want to come. Jon Green will facilitate this intense, therapeutic discussion though there may be quite a few other psychologists in the room who can assist and offer their five cents worth (Lucy’s rate schedule).
