Our own Barry Ezell will be presenting his BarCamp Tampa talk on the Erlang language. While not specifically a Ruby talk, Erlang has been receiving quite a bit of "press" in the Ruby community for its highly distributed, parallel and high-availability aspects. For instance, Erlang is the core of the forthcoming "Vertebra" project from the folks at Engine Yard (who use it to manage their server farm)
In this talk Bary presents his version of "Hello World" in Erlang, a parallel MD5 cracking application.
Come find out why a language developed by a phone company in the late 80s is attracting the attention of the Web 2.0/Cloud-Computing world.
