A naïve introduction to mruby

mruby is a lightweight implementation of Ruby that can be compiled within native applications as well as used to program embedded systems. Jason has been playing with it lately and would like to share what he's learned so far.

We've also got an idea for a group "activity" if there's time. [Oooh!]

Genaro Coffee Co. will be our gracious host again. Serving coffee, beer and now a number of food items on their menu (Black beans, rice and chicken, wings, chicken quesadillas, wraps etc). Check them out on Facebook.

I mentioned at the meeting last night I have an acquaintance who needs help with an iPad app written in xCode. If anyone is interested, or you know someone who might be, please email me and let me know. I will pass along your name.

Here's the description: "Basically the app is designed to allow someone to keep the minutes of a meeting and distribute those minutes to the meeting participants. I know there are many of these but I am hopeful that my version has some unique characteristics. Most of the code is completed but the person that worked on it took a new position and as a result he does not have the time to fix the remaining issues. The program works but there are numerous bugs. It locks up at key times and so is not fully functional. I need someone to take, find and then fix the bugs so that I can publish it. "

Thank you Jason for taking the time to put together the MRUBY presentation. Nicely done.

Good intro to mruby and pitfalls (language barrier). Suggestions: example using async. Would've given 5 stars if there had been one more Zoolander slide.
