Bus Trip to Glenn Beck Rally - The Villages

UPDATE! We have decided to leave for The Villages earlier due to the size of the expected crowd. This will allow us to beat the traffic into the area and get a closer location to the stage. We encourage you to eat a big lunch when you arrive at Sumter Square, as we will not be stopping for dinner on the way home. We will have some snacks available on the bus.

There are several restaurants in Sumter Square: Two Jays Deli, Sonny's BBQ, Red Sauce (Italian), Urban Flats or Amelia's (located inside the Waterfront Inn) to name a few.
================================================
We have secured one (possibly two) bus to go to The Villages for Glenn Beck's Rally - more rally info here.

The busfare will be $25 for the round trip.

We need at least 40 people to sign up to make this event possible or the bus will not go! If we do not fill it, you will get your payment refunded.

Details: ===========================================

Depart 11:00am at a location TBA but near I-275 and Bearss Ave., arrive approx 12:30pm in The Villages.

Depart The Villages approx 7:30pm, arrive Tampa 9:00pm.

It's said that Glenn will be making a major announcement about 2010 Election Year Plans at this rally!

Let's FILL THAT BUS and show Glenn how much we appreciate him bringing us all together in our fight to save our freedom!

    If times remain the same for the Rally maybe we could leave a little earlier than 1:30, to allow for traffic jams and to get a good spot up front so Glenn can see his hometown 912 er's up close?

    Glenn is having a book signing right on Sumter Square after his speech. Hopefully, you can get your booked signed there! Sorry but we felt this rally was more important. Glenn has really been highlighting this as the launch of his plans for 2010. We are blessed to be part of his vision.

    If decorating your car, remember duct tape leaves a residue on your car and at the speed we're going, everything will fly off. Instead, you can purchase car paint (looks like shoe polish) or washable paint/paintbrush from a craft store to show your spirit! You can also tape signs on your windows from the inside!

    There will be a big tent at the north end of The Landing. NO SIGNS (on poles or no poles) No chairs (I hate that part) No umbrellas (hope it doesn?t rain) No coolers or food or beverages Glen is scheduled to speak from 3:30-???. He will be signing books after that No posed photos will be allowed. Anyone wanting to have their book signed must stand in line (first come, first served) starting at 12:00 to get one of 2,000 wristbands. This will be at the tent.

    As the hostess on the bus from Preston, I am continually impressed with the members of the Tampa 9-12. I feel honored to be a part of it. The art work on the windows was beautiful and drew a lot of attention. I thank all of you who stayed and helped wash it off. This was the first time that Mr. Preston allowed that on any of his buses - he did it for me because I was so excited about the group. So thanks again. We will be able to do it on all the future trips I do believe. Have a great Thanksgiving and be thankful for this wonderful patriotic group of people. Carole Leamon Eason

    It was great to see Glenn & hear his new plan and all, but it was disappointing not to be able to stay long enough to get our books signed.

    The 9-12 organizers and the bus company plus it's employees did an excellent job of getting us there and seeing to all our needs. The day was weather perfect. It was a very long and tiring day (30-45 minutes late, depending upon what you were told about his scheduled arrival). Glenn's appearance was very energizing. I am looking forward to hearing more about his plan. Thanks everyone for all your hard work. Diane

    It would have been better if people had abided by the time constraints that we agreed upon before departing the bus for the event.

    Glenn Beck was awesome! His speech was very inspiring, and it was nice to travel to the Villages with such a great group of patriots. Over all it was a successful meetup, however, I do have one suggestion for future bus trips: Please stick to the itinerary; there was a vote taken up mid-trip to leave 30 minutes after Glenn Beck's speech rather than 7:30pm which was stated on the itinerary; this vote was brought up on the erroneous information that we would not be able to get wristbands for the book signing. Well, I and several others did get a wristband but were unable to get our books signed due to being called back to the bus because it would be departing in a few minutes. I would expect this bait and switch tactic from our government, but must say I was surprised this happened during a 9-12 meetup. I'll definitely explore other options before taking the bus again.

    GLEN WAS GREAT, READY TO DO WHAT I CAN TO TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK IN 2010!

    I was hoping to get Glenn to sign my books, but we were rushed to leave. But the bus ride was great, got to speak with a lot of like minded people, and truly enjoyed the experience. Glenn was awesome! Inspiring and hopeful.

    Lots of fun traveling with fellow patriots.

    We had a few inconsiderate folks aboard. It was decided before we split up that we would meet at the bus 30 minutes after Glenn spoke. 98% could follow directions and a few couldn't. Consiquently, the 98% had to wait on a running bus for better than 45 minutes while the missing were tracked down. When calling the stragglers, put them on speaker so others can witness the conversation, that seemed to be the concern . Next time if the missing are contacted via cell phone and they choose to stay, everyone else moves on!!

    This was another great opportunity to meet up with other patriots. And of course, Glenn was great!

    The experience was terrific! The bus was on time, comfortable and filled with American patriots who cared enough to share their concern for our country with others. We may have left Tampa as strangers, but we definitely returned as friends, having shared the day with Glenn Beck. Karen, once again, did a fantastic job organizing the trip. Thank you.
