If you haven't seen George Bailey running down the snowy streets of Bedford Falls on the big screen, you've never really seen "It's A Wonderful Life." And if you've never been to The Tampa Theatre, you've missed a true Tampa treasure. Enjoy this classic movie in a classic venue on December 20, 21, and 22. Times and tickets available here: http://itsawonderfulweekend.brownpapertickets.com/ (Also available at the Tampa Theatre box office without service charge.) Seating is general admission, so get there early for a good seat, and don't miss the pre-movie Christmas carols, accompanied by the Mighty Wurlitzer organ!
"It's A Wonderful Life" is a classic because it embodies the values which make America Good. You may have forgotten that The 9/12 Project was founded on 12 values: Honesty, Reverence, Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation, Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, and Gratitude. Our contest challenge?... Come up with an example of each of those values in the movie! (For example, Courage was displayed when young George saves his brother Harry from the icy water when they were boys.) You may have to rack your brain (or pull out your video tape from the 1990's), but if you can come up with an example of all 12 values, submit your email entry to: [masked] One winner will be selected from the entries, and the decision of The Judge (me) is final. Deadline is December 11, 2013 (so that we can announce the winner at our Christmas Celebration on the 12th. Winner need not be present to win, but we'd love to have you there.) Creativity -- as well as punctuation and spelling -- counts! Oh, and the prize?... 2 tickets for "It's A Wonderful Life," (date and time of the winner's choosing) and a $25 Outback gift card.
And don't forget what teacher says: "Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings!"
