Thanks to Americans For Prosperity, the bus is now free! See update below

STATEWIDE TEA PARTY ....
Save Our State On March 8th (This early part of the rally is important!)

When:  March 8th  8:00am

Where: Front and Rear entrances of Capitol Building Purpose: To flood the Capitol with grassroots activists discussing one on one with legislators and their aides the issues important to the citizens of Florida.  To be citizen lobbyists and promote issues such as Healthcare Freedom Act, Pension Reform, E-verify, Smart Cap and others.   No signs or flags permitted inside Capitol Building.
THEN.....
Tea Party: 12:00pm to 2:00pm

Where: Front Steps of Old Capitol Building

Purpose: This is an informal no thrills grassroots rally to promote our agenda and our support of fiscal conservative issues.  This is to offer counter support to the special interest union groups that will be lobbying as well. Bring your signs and flags.

The Capitol is directly behind the Old Capitol building. You can throw a rock and hit either one. Do You agree that public employees should contribute to their retirement? Do You agree that Health Care is a personal choice? Do You believe that a bad teacher should be fired regardless of their length of employment? Do You agree with the AZ Illegal Alien law? Do You want lower taxes and more jobs for Florida? Then make YOUR VOICES HEARD! Come to Tallahassee on March 8th and join hundreds if not thousands of grassroots citizens who need your help and support to get our message across to our elected officials.

I really got a lot out of the Rally. It was great to ride with the Tampa 9.12 folks (I'm in the North Pinellas 9.12, but we are all family). We got to talk to some of the legislators in their offices for quite a long talk. They seemed to want to hear what issues we were concerned about most. They also gave some good information. Very educational. I would go again and anyone who can, should try to go in the future!

Awesome experience. Our legislators really appreciated our visit to give them political cover. The rally was great and our governor made a surprise appearance and gave his best speech I ever heard! The subcommittee hearing was a success as the septic repeal is well on its way. The bus ride was much better than driving! Let's do this again!

    AWESOME! See photos at http://www.meetup.com/tampa912/photos/1296725/
We spent the day meeting with legislators and advocating an agenda of fiscal and regulatory reform. We filled a bus and helped send a message that we were there to support the bold changes that our representatives campaigned on and we intend to hold them accountable. We spent the day meeting them in their offices and discussing issues and bills we support, attending house and senate committee meetings and cheering at a rally held on the steps of the Capital. Governor Scott and Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll surprised us with an impromptu appearance. The day was capped off by a standing room only press conference announcing the newly formed Tea Party Caucus.

Due to work obligation I will not be able to attend. I had reserved a spot on the bus and notified Karen J. today so that someone else can take my place. I hope the turnout is HUGE and look forward to hearing how things went when you get back.

That's my representative (Arthenia Joyner) who sued the governor to try and force him to take the rail money. (I'm soooo proud to be in her district.) I can't wait to get into her office on Tuesday!

This is a time for "principled" leadership and a time to tell our elected leaders that "We" the people are out of money. Our credit line is extended to the max and now is the time to stop the out-of-control spending. Every department should be reduced by 10% based on all the fraud, waste and abuse Tallahassee says exists. The "Taj Mahal" is just one great example. No more! This is part of the message we can deliver in-person to the legislators when we see them early Tuesday (8 Mar) morning.

Some of the bills we can lobby for include: Healthcare Freedom Act, E-verify, pension reform and SmartCap. Do you have any other bills you would like to advocate for?

VERY interested! Would be interested in bus and hotel info before I can definitely commit. Any possibility of going up and back in one day? Probably not but the fewer days off work the better.
