Ukulele Workshop & Jam at Sam Ash Music

Join Steve & Jay as they lead a workshop on how to play without relying on printed music. Learn intros & endings that will improve group performances and tips on how to memorize songs and transpose them into keys that suit your vocal range. Afterwards, we'll have a jam session where we'll put these skills into practice, so if you have some simple songs you'd like to teach the group please be ready to share...and leave your songbooks at home this time.

Great workshop! The first that I've attended. I learned about key conversation. Thanks, Steve & Jay!

Thanks Steve & Jay, I enjoyed the workshop. I have also uploaded a chart that shows Major and minor keys - and the most commonly used chords in each key - grouped by the Scale numbers. I hope everyone finds this a useful reference as a follow-up to the workshop.
(there is a separate chart for Baritone players as well)

Just got back to Florida after a great sumer in Virginia. Joined the Northern VA Uke Society while there and had a ball. It is a terrific group headed by Moses K. with lots of opportunity to play together.
