Love Songs for our February Theme: Jazz Chords!!!!

You Do Something To Me  Tenor C Tuneing Baritone Tuning Music

Just The Way You Look Tonight Tenor C Tuning Baritone Tuning  Music

(as always, you will warm up with two chord songs with strum instruction.)

New Beginner Sessions Page posted on the Blog for past Sessions.  Charts are now available on that page from the 1st Session on Transposing. More to come.  Follow this link directly to the page for catching up!

Directions to my house and information on the gate code are listed below the song list at the bottom of Requirements, under section 6!

REQUIREMENTS: 1st Timers, please read!

1.  Shopping List: You MUST get a tuner for Ukulele at either Sam Ash, Guitar Center, or some mom and pop music store. I also want you to invest in a Banjo/mandolin Capo.  You will get a 10% discount at Sam Ash in Clearwater if you mention TBUS.  Bring the tuner and capo to the meet up!  Print out your music that is listed below and bring that with you to the session.  Bring a small music stand to place your music on.

2. Go to   to the ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS page. Scroll down to the first video and tune your UKULELE with that video, (or use one of the links  below to tune up) then go through the first three or four videos to learn the basic chords. These are valuable lessons and you need to come prepared to these sessions with at least these basics.  I review the basic chords on each session, but if you consistently practice with these videos that Chile Monster has allowed me to post, you will move much quicker through the jams and sessions.

3. Then, the night before our meet up, please check your tuning againHere are links to tuner sites if you still haven't bought a tuner.  These sites are helpful, but you will be tuning by ear.  or you can use .

4. This will expedite our tuning time and help us move through the sessions covering more material.  If you come unprepared, you are welcome to sit in, watch and listen, but I will not be able to stop the session to teach these very basic steps, as we have new players each Wednesday and we'd never move forward otherwise.  So, help out your fellow meet up partners and come prepared with the above mentioned skills and items.  You will learn so much more that way!

5. The songs listed below are on Dr Ukes site or they are at top of Meetup under section titled MORE, click on that then FILE. .  On Dr Ukes site You can print both the Chord song page as well as the non diagram page in both C Tuning for Tenor etc or you can Go directly to his site and click on the BAR sign next to the song for Baritone tuning.  We will review the past songs in each session as well as jamming on a few easy ones to "EASE the tension" lol of learning all these chords.

Directions to my house and information on the gate code are listed below the song list!

Great session everyone, the house was full! We had nine folks all learning and laughing through the NOT so stressful jazz tunes. You all ROCK! Or should that be, You All Jazz!!! LOL. Bring those same songs to the next session, plus we will add two more. One song is being brought in by Rick Alley to share, and the other just might be some Bluesy Jazz! I promise to be gentle. hahaha. See you all at the concert or workshop this weekend. I promise you, you can't do better than these workshops for the money and time. Flea Bitten Dawgs and Uncle Elvis, all under one roof. Gonna be a GREAT weekend for music and learning new chops! Ever, Norine

This was my 1st time and I enjoyed myself very much. Norine took the extra time after class to explain a lot of the basics as BOB my baritone & I have only known each other for 10 days. Like her style of teaching, emphasis on Fun!! Look forward to the next class!

I always learn what is needed next from each session. Now I know I need to get a Baritone session going for newbies. But, for not ever having played an instrument before, I think we all were excited to see you producing your very first Music! Go YOU!!!!!! Looking forward to watching you grow and join in on all the events TBUS has to offer. Look into the concert on Saturday and or the workshop on Sunday offered through TBUS. The Flea Bitten Dawgs utilize both Baritone and Tenor tuning Ukuleles. And if you haven't seen Uncle Elvis, well, you are not baptized until you see Uncle Elvis, that's all I'm saying! Now we're talking FUN!!!!

Don't forget the gate code for you new members who are coming tonight. 043! This one is at my house so come through the gate, and turn left at the huge statue straight ahead. That is Sunset Blvd. After you go left at the statue, go all the way down to the parking lot that is right on the water. Walk back to my house from there. It is number 15 not to be confused with the street that T's into Sunset right in front of my house, (which is Blvd 15) and that always confuses newcomers. I've gone over these two songs several times and the only area of concern for the new members is the Bridge of The Way You Look Tonight. Don't be scared though. I will teach you how to slide your transitional chords through that part and you will be surprised at how simple it becomes. If you have capos, bring them tonight. This is the perfect song to raise up by capos so that you can hear the difference that makes. See you all at 7 pm!! Ever, Norine.
