Ukulele Open Mic at the Whistle Stop Grill

Ukulele Open Mic at the Whistle Stop Grill takes place on the fourth Thursday of every month from 7-10pm. The Whistle Stop is a casual, family-friendly place with outdoor dining and a full menu. Here is a link to their website: http://www.whistlestopgrill.com/.

Be sure to sign up for the open mic when you arrive and have a few songs prepared. Players of all levels are welcome to perform in this supportive environment and I'll have my U-Bass handy in case anyone would like some accompaniment. Since turnout has been good for this event and there are other ukulele jam sessions each month, we won't be featuring the jam at the end of this event any longer.

Please don't forget to support our host venue by ordering something off the menu which features a great selection of drinks, appetizers and ice cream.

Hi Annamarie, You might venture down to Ybor City which is an historic district, with, well, shops, lol. Not sure you can do much in Tampa save for shops. Sometimes they have activities or festivals down by Channel Side, called River Walk area. You mentioned seeing us at 2 pm. Are you coming to the Jam in South Tampa? If so, make sure you get directions and the gate code to be buzzed into the park! Ever, Norine

Unfortunately, I'm teaching a class this semester on Thursday evenings. I hope to be able to attend again in ten more weeks.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
