South Tampa Ukulele Jam

South Tampa Jam is held every 3rd Saturday at Homes Of Regency Cove in Goodwin Hall.  Songs will be posted for each month with a theme.  We use the Yellow Daily Ukulele Book and the Blue Daily Ukulele Book Leap Year Edition.  We also post extra songs from various Ukulele sites for Holidays and special occasions.  We start at 2 PM.  This is a gated community and you need the code to get in.  It rings my cell phone and I need to buzz you in after you enter the number in the call box.   Please try to be early so that I can get everyone in before we start the jam.

This months songs are:

Country and Western Swing!  All out of the Yellow and Blue Daily Ukulele Books!

http://files.meetup.com/1357624/Country%20Jam%20List.pdf

Print this list from the file page.  It lists pg numbers for the songs from both books.  Bring the list and both books to this Saturday's Jam!  See you there!!! Vinny will be helping with this jam for the whole session!  Yay!!

As always, we welcome individual performances in keeping with the theme!  Bring it on and sing out on the mic! It is good practice for Open Mic nights!!!

Don't forget the Gate code to ring my phone is 043.  The driveway to the park is the one right before the Gandy Bait and Tackle sign.  Our sign says Homes Of Regency Cove!  The Hall is to your left as you drive through the gate.  My phone is[masked]

Great meetup. Thanks to Vinny for setting up the mics and playing bass.....was a fun first for me to sing into a mic AND have someone play backup bass. .....Has it really been one year already? Time sure flies when you are playing ukulele and having fun.

Sharon, you were awesome. I hope someday not too far away, I can muster up that kind of courage. Your singing was great, your playing was great, your extra lyrics were excellent, and the harmonies made it even nicer.

Thank you all for braving the heat and coming out for a day off country music. It was loads of fun and it was great that Vinny spent the whole jam with us. He really enjoyed playing Ken's banjolele. I feel a new acquisition will be heading toward this instrument around Christmas? Lol. Today marked one year since we started the South Tampa Jam and I am looking forward to September for the year anniversary of holding it here in Goodwin Hall. Ever, Norine

Wow, Vinny is going all out on this one. Setting up a mixing board with the pa and two mics. He'll play bass and baritone throughout the jam. He might even sing a few. Too bad it is in the middle of summer. Most of our snow birds won't be back till about September and October. Just think how surprised they'll be to see how much you've learned! For those who are coming, I have a real nifty finger move to show you for Willie Nelson's "Blue Skies". Transitional Chording works miracles on this one. See you at 2! Ever, Norine

I think that this months theme of Country and some of the Western Swing songs in the books will be fun and in keeping with the patriotic theme for July! I mean, it's Country after all! LOL. As always, looking forward to any individual performances that you have mustard up! Vinny and I will do a few cool tunes with some harmony for you all as well. He will be there for the whole session. Pete is off to Niagara Falls this month so percussion will be absent unless any of you wants to bring some drums! Hah. Next month is the Blues! You asked for it, I will try to do my best, but, volunteers who can really do the blues are so very welcome to come and help out on that one! LOL. I will be looking for some R & B songs and also any Blues songs from all genres! Tell me what you know so I can research them!!! See you Saturday!!
