I have started to learn a little since Mother's Day 2010 when my son got me a ukulele.
I don't play much yet - but in general I like some pop, soft rock, alternative, island music/Jimmy Buffet, Jason Castro...
I used to play some piano but I am quite out of practice.
I would join in group sing-a-longs as long as I know the words (or get the words).
As a beginner, I want to learn everything! In particular, though, I have trouble with reaching my small fingers to make certain chords, I would like to learn to strum better and strumming variations.
Hi, I'm from Tampa and want to have fun hanging around invariably happy ukulele music players and admirers! I am a beginner and want to learn to play better. My fingers are small so it's hard to stretch for some chords! Oh well, will keep trying.
This group has such an interesting mix of ukulele players. It's inspiring to see and hear the skilled musicians, but this group is also friendly to beginners and intermediate players. We are all supported, encouraged and given opportunities to learn and play, whatever level we're at. I think the organizer is doing a great job with that. The ukulele getaway last year was terrific, by the way. Looking forward to the next one!
