I am proud to announce our next Tampa TweetUp location for May:
THE FLORIDA AQUARIUM
This is a very exciting event which we have put together with the Aquarium! We are following our normal Tweetup format, but with a little added bonuses for everyone thanks to the Florida Aquarium - This is one Tweetup you dont want to be late too! :-)
The Florida Aquarium will be putting on a special Animal Encounters Penguin Promenade for the Tweetup! Two LUCKY Tweeple will have the opportunity to Swim with the Fishes! - Be sure to follow both myself @SIGEPJEDI & @JuliaGorzka for a chance at this giveaway! And, as if that wasn't amazing enough one of our Tweetup members are actually going to Dive with the Sharks!!
Tweetup Schedule:
3:00 PM – Arrival and Welcome in Taylor Great Room
3:30 PM – Animal Encounters in Taylor Great Room
4:00 PM – General Aquarium Viewing (Swim with the Fishes and Dive with the Sharks taking place in the tanks)
4:30 PM – Cantina food service ends
5:00 PM – Coral Reef Dive Show (and SCUBA divers special welcome to Tweeters)
5:30 PM – Penguin Promenade in the Coral Reef Gallery
5:30 PM – Cantina bar closes
6:00 PM – Tweetup ends
Tweetup giveaway winners will need to arrive absolutely no later than 3:30PM. Just bring your bathing suits and towels!
** Please be sure to identify to Aquarium parking and ticketing employees that you are with the Tweetup!

Joseph Costa+1 guestThought this meetup would have presented a great networking opportunity. From some of the folks I spoke with who did not bring kids, sentiment was similar. Perhaps Meetup should have indicated adults only. Felt the event was taken advantage by those with children to get a free day at the Aquarium unless of course the intention was to create a family event. In that case, that should have been communicated in the invitation. Difficult to hear the speakers due to constand din of kid chatter. Love kids, but I thought this was to be an adult networking event. Other than that, the Cantina has the best Mojitos ever!

Jeremiah+1 guestI thought there would have been more interactions with the members and nonmembers. There wasn't a creative ice breaker or introduction from my standpoint. I was looking forward to listening to other people talk about what they blogged, tweet about or podcast. I wanted to here how twitter can/ have improve business connections, but I didn't get any of that. The only way I met anyone was by reading their name and ask "what do you tweet about?", I know it's a childish measure to complain, but I wanted more than a tour from the aquarium.
