Liberty Book Discussion Group - The Federalist Papers

Mike Kolls, Denton County's leading Constitution enthusiast, has generously volunteered to take us through The Federalist Papers.

The Federalist Papers were a series of essays published in newspapers in 1787 and 1788 by James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay to promote the ratification of the Constitution.  More than any other documents, these short essays explain what the founders intended when drafting our original governining documents.

The Federalist Papers” discussion will start Monday May 6th – 7:00pm until 9:00pm. We will meet Mondays thru May 27th to investigate 33 of the 85 papers. A greater appreciation for “The Constitution of the United States” and our Founding Fathers will emerge.  The essays are available as a free download, or in numerous inexpensive paperbacks.

Please contact Mike if you are interested. He'd like to get some materials out to you and get a head count for the restaurant. We will meet at Tolbert’s Restaurant – 423 S Main St. – Grapevine, TX.  You can contact him by email.  [masked]

Okay, Shari and I RSVP'd for the 5/13 Meetup and then showed up thirty minutes early at Tolbert's in Grapevine and stayed until 8:30. Three others also showed up and we waited and waited. I walked around the place and enquired of the only likely table if that party were by chance Libertarians, but no luck. We were at a prominent table near the entrance so I could watch for familiar faces, but saw no one I knew from the Tarrant County Libertarians.
My copy of the Federalist Papers was placed prominently on our table allowing the three newcomers to find us.
So what happened to the meetup?

I would even be willing to give this another try, but would certainly like to know what went wrong on 5/13, or if I (and the others) misread something.

Geoff, I'm so sorry that this event didn't work out. Mike Kolls asked several times if he could put together and lead this discussion, with the goal of doing it in other Metroplex counties. While I'm listed as organizer, I've been unable to attend due to the recent elections and work responsibilities. I'll contact Mike immediately to clear this up. He was quite enthusiastic about getting this going, so I'm surprised that he wasn't there.

    What discussion group?
Just like last week, three attended, but where was our organizer?
    Where was our speaker?
What the heck is going on with Tarrant County Libertarians?
